Epson WorkForce DS-760 Specifications
The DS-760 can accommodate a good range of media. DS-760 is designed to handle both business cards (which it sizes down for A4 output) and A4 sheets — but you can use it to scan substantially longer or shorter pages. The scanner is also fully capable of dealing with embossed plastic cards.
Anything higher is overkill for what this scanner is designed to handle. In any case, 600 dpi means scans are sufficiently sharp and can pick up pretty much any detail (in text or images).
We recorded impressive scans at 300 pixels-per-inch (PPI) — pretty much the default scan standard across the industry. It got the resolution right and didn’t suffer from background moiré. Font discrimination was also intense, and the text-and-document setting rendered characters in 14-point Times New Roman easily readable.
Power and speed aside, the DS-760 is wrapped in a user-friendly shell. It ships with Epson Document Capture Pro software that features an array of capabilities, including document editing tools, scan-to-cloud functionally, and advanced document management. All told the features allow users to keep a tidy workflow to file, share, and retrieve papers as quickly as they make a business deal. These are all things the DS-760 can easily keep up with.
Drawbacks? While the initial setup process shouldn’t be acceptable even for small offices, less tech-savvy users might find it less intuitive — particularly on particularly complex office networks. And thanks to the DS-760’s heavy focus on speed and business efficiency, I must tune it for the best-looking scans of detailed graphics or photos. The DS-760 is a brisk, office-oriented scanner for folks who can’t afford to let up on the pace of work. Its rapid scanning, solid media handling, and advanced software features make it a great fit if you’re determined to wring every bit of efficiency out of your document management process without the constant involvement of someone who can fix the machine.
