Epson ET-5180 Specifications
The Epson EcoTank ET-5180 is another fantastic inkjet printer from Epson that is free from the need for cartridges and designed to be both kind on the planet and cheap to run. It’s a four-color all-in-one model that prints black, cyan, yellow, and magenta and comes with enough ink inside. Its easily refillable and supersized tanks will save you a small fortune in ink costs over time. The print quality is also awe-inspiring, with vibrant, clear colors and impressively sharp black text that makes this more than adequate for a photo printer or a small office or home printer. This is partly thanks to Epson’s high-quality precision core technology, which uses a print head very similar to the sort of device used by professional print companies to churn out documents, reports, and brochures rapidly. The device also comes with automatic two-sided printing to reduce its environmental impact and save you money on paper.
Connectivity is robust, too, of course. You get Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet options for straightforward printing from — deep breath — Android and iOS smartphones and tablets via Epson Connect, Epson Email Print, Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, and Amazon Fire OS. Also, like many other EcoTank printers, the integration of a scanner, fax machine, and copier further emphasizes its multifunctional capability for today’s half-paperless office. If you have bigger scanning and copying tasks on your plate, documents will also move through its Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) quickly enough.
One downside could be its initial cost, which is higher than most run-of-the-mill inkjet printers. That should be compensated by the longer-term ink savings, though. Furthermore, its interface and setup are less straightforward than its main competitors if you’re not tech-savvy. Nevertheless, those downsides hardly overshadow this printer’s feature set. With long-term ink savings built in, it makes for a smart buy for anyone looking for a reliable and economical printing solution.
